The
Kentucky Department of Agriculture, through the KACTO
has developed commercial opportunities between Kentucky
and several Mexican States in the Agricultural Sector.
Since 1996, the exporting to Mexico of Holstein Milk
Cattle, Angus and Charolais Beef Cattle mainly has been
promoted. Missions and trades has taken place in the
commercial as in the educative areas, giving diverse
results in the promotion of new technologies such as
embryo transferring mainly.
The international events and technological development
permitted the KACTO to transform the threat of “Mad
Cow Disease” (which generated preventive measures
for its control and eradication, and the temporary closing
of the Mexico frontier to the import of livestock and
beef products), into a opportunity of commercializing
genetic of Kentucky through semen and embryos, since,
in addition, Mexican stock-breeders are in a constant
search for improving the quality of their herds and
to be more competitive.
The KACTO has the capacity and experience to do commercial
operations through its data bases and requested information.
Our desire is for all the stock-breeders in Kentucky
to be interested in exploring this great opportunity.
