.........The
Kentucky Agricultural and Commercial Trade Office (KACTO)
located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico has been established
since 1996. The KACTO was established as a result of a partnership
between the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and
the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Since this time the
mission statement of the KACTO has been to promote exports
of Kentucky manufactured goods, services and agricultural
products throughout Mexico. The Mexico office works to stimulate
demand and increase the awareness of Kentucky’s high
quality products and services developing contacts in Mexico
interested in investment, joint venture or purchasing relationships
with Kentucky companies which will contribute to increased
exports to Mexico.
During the time the Mexico office
has been opened it has assisted over 100 Kentucky companies,
agencies, universities, livestock producers and farmers on
a yearly basis. The extent of our services and or functions
vary from developing market research reports, coordinating
farm visits, participating in trade shows, providing translation
services, import logistical etc. In short the Mexico office
provides from the most basic import or Mexico business development
information to complex issues related to export trade for
Kentucky agricultural and commercial sectors.
